CLOSURE OF MS QUEENSLAND WELLBEING CENTRES

24/03/2020 by MS Queensland

From today 24th March 2020, MS Queensland will be offering an online wellness program following the closure of its Wellbeing Centres across Queensland due to the unfolding COVID-19 pandemic.

MS Queensland Interim Chief Executive Officer Zane Ali said “the health and safety of MS Queensland customers, staff and community is always our number one priority”.

“This move to online delivery of our Wellness Program is about MS Queensland taking steps to help keep our customers, staff and the community safe following Queensland Health’s recommendations,” Mr Ali said.

“We know that many people with Multiple Sclerosis across Queensland rely on these services, so transitioning online is a way for us to stay connected to the community. It’s one way we can maintain consistency for people and provide continuity of care in these challenging times to ensure no Queenslander faces MS alone” he said.

This program includes virtual events and wellbeing content, has been broken down into weekly themes and will be accessible via the MS Queensland website and social media channels.

These themes include COVID-19 and MS, employment and family, staying active at home, mindfulness and meditation, diet and MS, as well as content covering isolation and connection to self-content.
