MS Queensland Housing Solution
“I know that life without my family was literally not worth living.”
Michael, 44, lives with multiple sclerosis. Because of his condition, Michael made the decision to live in an aged care facility in the hope that his wife and daughter could get on with their lives. But being separated from his family, coupled with a surrounding of people who were preparing for the end of their lives, proved too much. Michael was back home in only 3 weeks with his wife, Isabelle, as his carer.
There are 1,340 others like Michael forced to live in aged care in Queensland. Our solution is to build high needs housing that accommodates the need for independence from its residents and the only way we can do it is with your help.
The MS Queensland Housing Solution aims to bridge the gap in high needs housing in Queensland.
The first stage of the MS Queensland Housing Solution was apartment projects in Albany Creek, Annerley and Lutwyche. This was followed by the Springfield apartments in 2018.
With 24/7 quality care, fully accessible facilities and adaptive technology, these apartments lend themselves perfectly to the changing needs of residents.
“This initiative has changed Michael’s life and our life as a family.”
Michael’s wife, Isabelle
