Wellbridge Apartments

The Wellbridge Apartments are a micro-village setting with 6 independent living units off a shared open-air breezeway. The breezeway leads to the communal kitchen and sitting area with glass doors that open onto the shared garden and barbecue area.

Raised garden beds allow residents to grow their own herbs and vegetables. The Wellbridge Apartments are located in close proximity to local shops, cafes and restaurants.

Of the 6 units, 4 are designed to offer high physical support and 2 are classified as improved livability.

The Wellbridge Apartments are a collaboration between MS Queensland and Upinvest, a social impact investment group. The Wellbridge Apartments are also proudly supported by the Davie Family Fund, a sub-fund of Australian Communities Foundation.

What criteria must you meet to apply?

For occupancy in one of the supported independent living apartments:

  • NDIS participant
  • Be assessed as SIL eligible in your NDIS plan
  • Approved, or on the path for approval for Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) at High Physical Support or Improved Liveability categories
  • Be suited to a service & housing solution in this region (ie – a family, social connection to the region& a desire to engage in this local community)
  • Willing to contract all Supported Independent (SIL) services through MSQ for the first 12 months

How much does it cost?

As an SDA tenant, you must pay a “reasonable rent contribution”, which is:

25% of your Disability Support Pension (or equivalent), plus 100% of your Commonwealth Rent Assistance

Our accommodation options are not limited to pension recipients. Please call us to discuss

*Subject to additional 25% of pension supplement, where received.  An independent rental assessment shall be undertaken

 

Do you have to have MS to get an apartment?

No. Any person living with high physical support needs who requires supported accommodation/improvements to their living arrangements is very welcome to speak with one of our expert team at MS Queensland.
