Family and Carer Support

We understand the challenges that caring for someone with multiple sclerosis (MS) can bring, and that family and carers often need support and assistance too. MS Queensland can help family and carers through the challenging times and support them in helping their loved one live well with MS.

The NeuroAssist InfoLine

The MS Queensland NeuroAssist InfoLine is available to carers, family and friends for questions, information, advice or when you simply need someone to talk with. Our team is friendly, empathetic and highly experienced in MS and other progressive neurological diseases (PND). They can provide referrals, connect you with other supports in your community and help you navigate the NDIS on behalf of your loved one. The NeuroAssist InfoLine can also provide information on any government-funded carer support for which you may be eligible.

You can call the NeuroAssist InfoLine on 1800 177 591 Monday – Friday between 8:30am – 5:00pm, or contact us on info@msqld.org.au.  You can also request a call back from one of our NeuroAssist team and expect a call within 24 hours.

Carer support groups

A number of MS support groups operate across Queensland offering localised self-help, friendship and support for people living with MS and their carers and families. Some support groups have been established specifically for carers of people with MS while others have been established for young people and for parents with MS.
