Tanya Hunter

Tanya was apprehensive about what her MS diagnosis would mean for her future, as she already lived with a spinal condition and had experienced many medical procedures. Tanya received her diagnosis in 2015, after an MRI and lumbar puncture. She’d only had symptoms (including numbness in the face) since the beginning of that year, so it came as a shock. With an invested level of trust with her neurologist and after contacting MS Queensland, she felt armed to face this next phase of what she called her ‘health journey’.

Working in the Queensland Police Force with an education background Tanya loves her job and is a big advocate for the support she had received from her employer. She loves to share what this support has meant to her in allowing her to continue living her positive life and maintaining her employment within her supportive work environment.

“I hope to inspire others to keep laughing along the way as they can live well with MS. You can take control keep moving forward with the right support network and community.”
