Meet Connor, Queensland’s Top Individual MS Readathon Fundraiser

More than $210,000 was raised through the MS Readathon in Queensland last year and 12-year-old Connor took out the crown of Queensland’s top individual fundraiser with more than $2500 raised.

Connor whose grandmother Ruth lives with MS was his inspiration.

“I’m so proud of Connor and it’s very special that he wanted to raise money because of me. MS can be tough, not only on the person living with MS but also the family and friends of those living with MS which can impact everyone differently,” said Ruth.

For over 40 years, the MS Readathon has been a ‘novel’ event that encourages children to read books and improve their literacy skills in an interactive and fun way.

The MS Readathon makes a significant difference in the lives of Queenslanders living with MS. Students like Connor are helping drive awareness in their local areas and supporting the cause through their participation. It’s an inspirational initiative and we encourage the community to get involved next year.

Funds raised through the MS Readathon in Queensland support MS camps for kids and families of people living with MS as well as the essential services delivered by MS Queensland such as service coordination, phone support, physiotherapy and exercise therapy, psychology, and accommodation.

If Connor has inspired you, why not encourage your own children, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren to get involved for 2020. Registrations for the 2020 MS Readathon open in March. Register your interest to find out more via www.msreadathon.org.au
